The TWAS-ICCBS Postgraduate Fellowships, administered jointly by the International Centre for Chemical and Biological Sciences (ICCBS) in Karachi, Pakistan, comprising the H.E.J. Research Institute of Chemistry and the Dr. Panjwani Centre for Molecular and Drug Research, and TWAS, are aimed at young scientists from developing countries (excluding Pakistan) who aspire to undertake research for a PhD in chemical and biological sciences.

These fellowships support studies leading to a PhD degree in various fields including organic chemistry, biochemistry, biotechnology, molecular medicine, pharmacology, physical chemistry, or analytical chemistry.
Benefits
ICCBS will provide a monthly stipend intended to cover living expenses such as food, accommodation, local transportation, and minor medical costs. The stipend will not be convertible into foreign currency.
Requirements
Applicants for these fellowships must fulfill the following criteria:
– Maximum age of 45 years as of December 31 of the application year.
– Citizenship of a developing country (excluding Pakistan).
– Hold a PhD degree in a natural sciences field.
– Must not possess any visa for temporary or permanent residency in Pakistan or any developed country.
– Regular employment in a developing country (excluding Pakistan) with a research assignment.
– Submission of a medical certificate indicating good health from a qualified medical practitioner.
– Provision of an official Preliminary Acceptance Letter from ICCBS. Requests for acceptance should be directed to Prof. Dr. Farzana Shaheen (farzana-shaheen@iccs.edu or hej@cyber.net.pk or pcmd@cyber.net.pk or protocol.iccbs@iccs.edu), who will facilitate the assignment of a host supervisor. Applicants must include their CV, a research proposal outline, and two recommendation letters when contacting Prof. Farzana Shaheen.
– Evidence of proficiency in English, if the medium of education was not English.
– Candidates are encouraged to evaluate their English proficiency through available resources.
– Demonstration of intention to return to the home country upon completion of the fellowship.
– Commitment to refrain from taking up other assignments during the fellowship period.
– Financial responsibility for any accompanying family members.
