Ibrahim Yakub, the Managing Director of the Kano State Urban Planning and Development Authority (KNUPDA), has officially launched a “one-stop shop” dedicated to expediting the issuance of building approvals and permits.
During the inauguration of the unit at the Conference Hall of KNUPDA in Kano yesterday, Ibrahim highlighted that the establishment of the unit was prompted by numerous complaints from the public regarding unnecessary delays in obtaining building approval and permits. He emphasized that the aim is to streamline the approval process and address these concerns.

Ibrahim further elaborated that the unit will operate directly and promptly to address any issues brought to KNUPDA, ensuring swift resolution without delays.
He encouraged the unit members to work diligently, emphasizing the importance of their role, and commended them on their selection, which was based solely on merit.
Bilkisu Muhammad, the head of the unit, expressed commitment to delivering positive outcomes in their duties and pledged to work hard towards achieving this goal.
The unit, comprising 15 members, is led by Muhammad, with Sagir Sani serving as the secretary.
