Requirements
– Applicants must be accepted for admission to the online distance learning Master of Surgery (ChM) in Clinical Ophthalmology at the University of Edinburgh.
– They should have firmly accepted the offer or intend to do so and be advanced trainee ophthalmologists. Applications from ophthalmologists in independent practice may also be considered.
Selection Process
– Based on academic merit and a personal statement describing the applicant’s contribution to their country’s ophthalmology development plans and how they will utilize the scholarship to further enhance ophthalmology services.
– Successful applicants are expected to work in their country’s ophthalmology service after completing their studies, using their skills to develop the service and foster links with The University of Edinburgh.
Method of Application
1. Complete an online EUCLID application for the ChM in Clinical Ophthalmology.
2. If eligible, accept the conditional or unconditional offer.
3. Apply online for the scholarship via the Edinburgh Surgery Online (ESO) scholarships online application form.
4. Provide necessary information including the University application number, personal statement, CV, and a letter of support from the Ophthalmology Educational/Training Programme Supervisor or Director.
5. Await acknowledgment of the scholarship application.
If successful, the University may cover the cost of an English language proficiency test required for admission. Please note that scholarships are competitive, and there is no guarantee of success.
