Representing the largest global awards for tech startups by the United Kingdom’s Department for Business and Trade, UKPA is an extension of the successful Tech Rocketship Awards.

The opportunity is open to startups in the AI, Connected & Automated Mobility (CAM) Technology, Cyber Security, and Digital Trade Solutions sectors. The awards aim to provide African startups with a pathway into the thriving UK tech sector, valued at $1 trillion.
United Kingdom Investment Minister, Dominic Johnson, emphasized the awards as an excellent opportunity for tech scale-ups to join the United Kingdom’s flourishing tech sector.
His Majesty’s Trade Commissioner for Africa, John Humphrey, highlighted the significance of African startups in global innovation, job creation, and community empowerment.
The awards offer a tailor-made program in the United Kingdom for winners, including meetings with industry and government specialists, invitations to VIP events, and support from DBT’s Global Entrepreneur Programme.
Applications are open until April 30th, with winners receiving exposure and recognition through DBT’s promotional activities to accelerate their growth.
The live finals are scheduled to take place in the United Kingdom in the autumn after regional finals and semi-finals. Interested startups can apply online.
