What is Jamb?

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board is a Nigerian examination board for tertiary-level institutions. This board is responsible for conducting the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination, which serves as an entrance examination for prospective undergraduates seeking admission into Nigerian universities.

Additionally, the board is tasked with administering similar examinations for individuals applying to Nigerian public and private monotechnics, polytechnics, and colleges of education.

All applicants are required to have successfully obtained the West Africa Senior School Certificate (WASSCE), conducted annually by the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), or its equivalent, the National Examination Council (Nigeria) Senior School Certificate Examination (NECO SSCE).

Annually, the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board administers one of Nigeria’s most reputable examinations, determining the eligibility of students for admission to tertiary institutions. In the 2022 examination, a record-breaking number of over 1.7 million candidates registered.

The Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination has a validity period of one year, and scores range from 0 to 400. This examination assesses knowledge, speed, and accuracy, comprising 180 questions to be answered within a time frame of 2 hours (120 minutes). The subject combination varies based on a candidate’s chosen course of study, with English language being compulsory for all candidates.

Conducted by the West African Examination Council (WAEC), the examination is also available to international candidates seeking admission to Nigerian tertiary institutions.

Following the yearly examination, the board convenes to determine the cut-off marks for universities, polytechnics, colleges of education, and monotechnics. Typically, universities have the highest cut-off marks, while other institutions may require lower scores.

What are Jamb CBT Centres?

JAMB CBT (Computer Based Test) Centers refer to the approved locations across Nigeria where JAMB allows registration for the UTME examination.

These centers are distributed across the 36 states of Nigeria, including the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

How to Check JAMB Mock Result 2024

  • Visit the JAMB Mock result portal at UTME 2024 Mock Results Notification Slip.
  • A field will be provided for entering your JAMB registration Number; please input your JAMB Registration Number.
  • Lastly, click on “Check Mock Result” to access and view your Mock result for the UTME.

Be mindful that the UTME mock result is intended to aid in better preparation for the main UTME, which is scheduled to start on April 19, 2024.

NOTE: If you view your mock result and it indicates “You did not sit for the Mock Examination,” please do not panic. Just check it again after some time.
