Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has clarified the discrepancy in punishments given to Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho, citing that the distinction arose because “Jadon chose to go public.”
Rashford is set to make a return to the United team for their upcoming Premier League match against Wolves after engaging in a conversation with Ten Hag on Monday regarding his unwise trip to Belfast last week.

On the other hand, Sancho has been loaned back to his former club Borussia Dortmund after publicly contesting Ten Hag’s decision to withdraw him from the squad for a game against Arsenal in September.
Sancho underwent over four months of solitary training, while Rash trained with his teammates on Monday.
Ten Hag explained that the dissimilar treatment was a result of Sancho’s decision to make a now-deleted remark on X, previously known as Twitter.
The manager emphasized that any issues could have been resolved internally, but Sancho’s choice to go public influenced the approach taken.
