This initiative aims to empower young African global citizens committed to taking action for the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

The Ban Ki-moon Centre for Global Citizens Scholarship is a fully virtual program designed to empower young African change-makers. Participants will address one or more SDGs in their community by proposing and implementing a localized SDG Micro-Project.

The program includes a summer school, peer-to-peer mentoring, and expert training and workshops on specific topics.

The training targets 17 young African change-makers, ages 20 to 35, from the following countries:

  • Ghana
  • Nigeria
  • Cameroon
  • Ethiopia
  • Kenya

Eligibility

  • African youth regardless of race, gender, or sexual orientation
  • Citizenship from Ghana, Nigeria, Cameroon, Ethiopia, or Kenya
  • Age group: 20-35
  • Completion of at least a Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Strong dedication to SDGs and global citizenship ideals
  • Minimum English level B2 (European Standards)

  • Introduction video (max 30 seconds, MP4 or MOV format)
