The 2024 News Corp Media Fellowship program encompasses digital innovation training, grant funding, and an exclusive, virtual newsroom placement with WSJ.

Building on previous iterations since 2014, the Fellowship offers journalists an immersive experience in some of the world’s most digitally advanced newsrooms.

– Journalists must participate in two half-day webinars in April, conducted by editors and reporters specializing in digital tools, data journalism and visualization, artificial intelligence, mobile journalism, and audience engagement. Webinars will be open to a select group of up to 50 journalists.

– To apply for one of five news innovation grants supporting a data or digitally-driven project, journalists must participate in both webinars. Projects should focus on new forms of storytelling, data journalism and visualization, or citizen engagement. Grant recipients will also receive online editorial coaching and mentorship.

– Only journalists who successfully complete both stages will be considered for the News Corp Media Fellowship.
