The core of the Schwarzman Scholars experience lies in an intensive and immersive Master of Global Affairs degree program conducted at Tsinghua University in Beijing.
Requirements
– Possession of an undergraduate degree: Applicants currently pursuing undergraduate degrees must be on track to fulfill all requirements by August 1 of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year. While there are no restrictions regarding the field of undergraduate study, applicants should elucidate how participation in Schwarzman Scholars will nurture their leadership potential within their respective fields.
– Age criteria: Applicants must be at least 18 but not exceeding 29 years of age as of August 1 of their Schwarzman Scholars enrollment year (applicable for the Class of 2025-2026, as of August 1, 2025).
– Proficiency in English: As all instruction will be conducted in English, applicants must demonstrate strong English skills. Non-native English speakers must provide official scores from recognized English proficiency tests. Exceptions apply for applicants who completed their undergraduate studies in institutions where English was the primary language of instruction for a minimum of two years or for those who pursued English-medium Master’s degrees or higher. Accepted test options include TOEFL iBT (minimum score 100), IELTS (minimum score 7), or Cambridge English tests (minimum score 185).

– The online application must be completed in English using Roman script. All requirements should be submitted electronically; no materials are accepted via email. You may access and continue your application as needed before submission. Remember to use a permanent email address for future correspondence regarding your admission status.
