This programme offers senior lecturers and senior researchers from recognized universities and research institutions the opportunity to conduct relevant research contributing to Afreximbank’s intellectual leadership in its mission to finance and promote intra- and extra-African trade.

About Afreximbank

Afreximbank is a Pan-African multilateral financial institution established in October 1993. It is owned by African governments, the African Development Bank, other African multilateral financial institutions, and both African and non-African public and private investors.

Eligibility Requirements

  • Position: Senior lecturers/senior researchers from recognized universities, research institutions, or similar organizations.
  • Nationality: Open to nationals of African countries and Caribbean Community countries.
  • Language: Excellent oral and written communication skills in English. Knowledge of French, Arabic, or Portuguese is an advantage.
  • Commitment: Must be ready to commit to the bank for one calendar year on a non-renewable basis.

  • Current CV and cover letter
  • Defined plan of research activities with specific outcomes, deliverables, and timelines
  • Recommendation letter from current employer confirming job availability post-sabbatical
  • Copy of valid passport
  • Certified copies of relevant academic certificates
  • A short statement of intent (maximum of one A4 page)
