Super Eagles players Williams Troost-Ekong, Ola Aina, and Ademola Lookman have been named in the AFCON 2023 Team of the Tournament after Nigeria secured a second-place finish in the competition held in Ivory Coast.
The trio made significant contributions to the team’s success throughout the tournament.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) released the official Team of the Tournament, with South Africa’s Ronwen Hayden Williams named as the best goalkeeper.
Ola Aina earned a spot as the right-back, while William Troost-Ekong, who was also named AFCON 2023 player of the tournament, secured a place in central defense alongside DR Congo’s Chancel Mbemba. Ivorian Ghislain Konan completed the back four as the left-back.
In midfield, the Ivorian duo of Jean Michael-Seri and Frank Kessie were selected, with South Africa’s Teboho Mokoena forming the three-man midfield.
The attacking trio consisted of Brentford’s Yoane Wissa on the right wing, Atalanta’s Ademola Lookman on the left wing, and Equatorial Guinea striker Emiliano Nsue, who won the Golden Boot, securing the striker position.
Troost-Ekong and Lookman were the top scorers for the Super Eagles during the AFCON 2023 tournament, each scoring three goals.
