Recalling the moment, Rufai stated, “At the commencement of the Africa Cup of Nations, the first match against Equatorial Guinea, that was my first time seeing Stanley.

Immediately I assessed his performance, movement, communication, and composure, and I immediately said to myself Nigeria has been able to solve this problem, the yearning of Nigeria to get a better goalkeeper for the Super Eagles.”
