Among the standout new signings are Ifeanyi Ogba, formerly an attacking player with Rangers International; Oyeleso Suraj, a seasoned NPFL veteran from Plateau United; and Akani Akeem from Sporting Lagos.
The unveiling ceremony took place at the Sugar Film Factory in Ilorin, where the club’s general manager, Bashir Badawiy, speaking on behalf of the club chairman, Kumbi Titiloye, underscored the thorough process that went into selecting the new recruits.
“We carried out scouting trips across Ikenne, Ogun, Lagos, and Bayelsa to ensure we assembled a well-rounded group of players for the season. As seen with the players presented today, we have successfully blended youthful energy with experienced professionals,” Badawiy commented.
He also presented detailed match data and statistics from various tournaments in the aforementioned states, emphasizing Kwara United’s strong standing in the league.
“We’ve shown remarkable defensive strength, having secured victories against prominent clubs such as Al Merreikh of Sudan, a well-known force on the continental stage. With sufficient time left in our training schedule, I am confident that our players will be fully prepared to deliver top-notch performances when the league begins,” he added.
Badawiy further mentioned that the team had just returned from a series of playing tours, during which the new players demonstrated their abilities with impressive performances.
Tunde Sanni, the coach of Kwara United FC, expressed his optimism for the upcoming season, stating that the team is now well-equipped with quality players, including strong strikers, and is ready to compete at a high level.
