Applications are currently being accepted for the 2024 Arizona State University Mastercard Foundation Innovation and Technology Scholarship.
Through a collaboration with the Mastercard Foundation, Arizona State University is offering a comprehensive 9-month academic and practical training program in artificial intelligence (AI) and business for selected Mastercard Foundation Scholars.

The program aims to foster leadership, entrepreneurship, and technical AI skills, empowering students to become AI leaders capable of addressing challenges both in Africa and globally.
Benefits
– Five scholarships are available for students admitted for the 2024/2025 academic year, covering full tuition fees, and accommodation expenses, and providing comprehensive support.
– In addition to financial support, Scholars will engage in activities as part of the broader Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Arizona State University, including leadership curriculum, individual mentorship, and various events and programming.
Program Offering
– Master of Science in Artificial Intelligence in Business, MS-AIB
Eligibility Criteria
– Applicants must meet the academic requirements for admission to their chosen degree program, including English proficiency.
– Applicants must be citizens of an African country committed to ethical leadership and demonstrated community engagement.
– Applicants must be between the ages of 18 and 33 on or before the application deadline.
– Applicants must have a track record of leadership and service in their community.
– Applicants must demonstrate academic excellence and ambitions that exceed their financial resources.
– Applicants must hold an undergraduate degree with a minimum of 4 years of study, conferred by July 2024.
– Applicants must not have started or completed other graduate or master’s degrees before August 2024.
– Applicants must be able to reside in Phoenix, Arizona for the duration of the program.
– Applicants are encouraged to have a strong foundation in mathematics, statistics, and computer science.
Scholarship Coverage
The scholarship will cover the following:
– Costs related to visa application processing
– Costs related to English language tests
– Costs related to program application
– Airfare to and from Phoenix, Arizona
– Full tuition, books, and fees
– On-campus housing
– Participation in scholarship programming
