Peseiro shared his thoughts with TVC News Nigeria, stating, “My contract ends at the end of this month.

Now I go to rest, and I am speaking with the NFF to know about my future. Now I need to rest as I’m very tired; everybody is tired but we are speaking together about my future.”

The coach, who has been linked with the vacant Algeria coaching position, reflected on the Super Eagles’ 2-1 defeat to host Cote d’Ivoire in the AFCON final.

He acknowledged that his team was nervous compared to the Elephants, who played without pressure. Peseiro praised Cote d’Ivoire, noting that they were the main favorites for the tournament and had excellent players, especially in attack.

Despite the defeat, Peseiro commended his players for their efforts throughout the tournament and emphasized that they deserved praise for how far they had come and the dedication they showed on the field.
