Applications are now open for the Government of Slovak Republic National Scholarship Programme 2025 for international students


This fully funded program provides opportunities for international graduate students to pursue Master’s and PhD studies in Slovakia. The scholarship includes monthly funding of up to €1,470.

Benefits
The scholarship covers the living costs of recipients, including expenses for food, accommodation, and other necessities during their stay in Slovakia. Host institutions may assist scholarship holders with accommodation and other formalities related to their entry and stay.
Monthly Scholarship Amounts:
- Master’s students: €620
- PhD students: €1,025
- University teachers/researchers/artists: €1,470
Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the Government of Slovak Republic National Scholarship Programme, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of a foreign country.
- For university students:
- Be enrolled at a university outside Slovakia.
- Be a student in the second level of higher education (Master’s level) or have completed at least 2.5 years of university studies in the same/similar program.
- Be accepted for a study stay in Slovakia by a public, private, or state higher education institution for academic mobility.
- For PhD students:
- Be pursuing higher education or research outside Slovakia.
- Be accepted by a Slovak public, private, or state higher education or research institution eligible to carry out a doctoral program.
- For university teachers, researchers, and artists:
- Be invited for a teaching, research, or artistic stay in Slovakia by an eligible institution with a valid research and development certificate (non-business).
- Meet the language requirements of the host country (English, French, Slovak, or Spanish).
Required Documents
Applicants must submit the following documents online:
- Curriculum Vitae (CV).
- Motivation Letter.
- Detailed Study Programme.
- Two recommendation letters were issued by university teachers.
- Confirmation letter from the applicant’s home university verifying current enrollment.
- Scanned copies of the applicant’s Bachelor’s diploma, diploma supplement, and state examination certificate (if applicable).
- Admission/Invitation Letter issued by the host university in Slovakia specifying the period of stay.

Applications are submitted online. Ensure all required documents are attached to complete the application.
