On Saturday night, a female passenger, identified as Nimotalahi Ishola, leaped into the lagoon while aboard a boat in the Igando area of Alimosho local government area, Lagos State.
The incident occurred around 9 pm shortly after the boat departed from the Isuti Jetty in the Igando community, heading towards Totowu in Ogun State.

Nimotalahi was one of 12 passengers on the boat when she unexpectedly removed her life jacket and plunged into the lagoon, indicating a possible suicide attempt.
A plastic bottle of insecticide was reportedly found among her belongings left behind.
The police have visited the scene, and a search party has been initiated to recover her body.
The Lagos State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), SP Benjamin Hundeyin, has also confirmed the incident.
