President Bola Tinubu has urged state governors to put aside political differences and work together with the federal government to develop the nation.
Addressing the governors during an Iftar (breaking of Ramadan fast) at the State House in Abuja on Thursday, President Tinubu emphasized the need to shift from politics to governance, stressing the importance of unity and cooperation among all stakeholders.

“We have reached a point where politics must give way to governance. We belong to the same family, living under the same roof but in different rooms. It’s imperative that we collaborate and foster love among ourselves,” remarked the President.
Highlighting the significance of the holy month of Ramadan and the Lenten Season for Christians, President Tinubu encouraged Nigerians to use this solemn occasion for reflection, prayers, and extending charity to others.
Despite acknowledging the challenges facing the nation, President Tinubu expressed optimism about the future, citing that the solutions being implemented by his administration were starting to yield positive results.
“I’m pleased to see that the obstacles are gradually diminishing. The future is looking brighter. We must communicate, stick together, and share in each other’s joy,” he added.
AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum (NGF) and governor of Kwara State, commended the federal government for distributing 42,000 tons of grains. He underscored the importance of collaborative efforts between the national and sub-national governments in addressing common challenges.
Regarding the payment of wage awards to workers, Governor AbdulRazaq assured that state governments would fulfill their obligations.
“With the wet season farming approaching, I urge all governors to engage in farming activities to better understand the challenges faced by ordinary farmers and ensure a successful harvest at the end of the season,” stated the NGF chairman.
