New details have emerged regarding the killing of the kidnapped Sokoto Monarch in the Sabon Birnin local government area of Sokoto State, Alhaji Isa Muhammad Bawa.
Confirming the tragic incident, Honourable Almustapha Boza, the lawmaker representing Sabon Birnin North in the state House of Assembly, informed our correspondent that the team sent to deliver the ransom demanded by the bandits found his body.

Speaking in a telephone conversation late Wednesday night, the lawmaker recounted that the team returned with only his son, who had been abducted alongside the district head, as the district head had already been buried by the time they reached the bandits’ location.
“Yes, I can confirm that he is dead; they killed him. The team sent to deliver the ransom found him already deceased, but they did manage to bring back his son. We are now on our way to the hospital for treatment,” the lawmaker said.
Earlier, the lawmaker had mentioned to our correspondent, “We had agreed on a ransom of N60 million and brand new motorcycles. The delay in delivering the ransom was due to the specific type of motorcycles they demanded, which are commonly known as Boko Haram motorcycles.
“We finally acquired the motorcycles today, but unfortunately, the bandits did not contact the person they had been communicating with. They usually called twice a day, at 8 am and 5 pm, but today they did not call at all.”
