The Japan Africa Dream Scholarship (JADS) is a prestigious, fully funded master’s scholarship jointly initiated by the African Development Bank (AfDB) and the Government of Japan. What Does the Scholarship Cover?
The scholarship is comprehensive and includes:

Eligibility Requirements
To qualify for the JADS program, applicants must:
- Be a citizen of an AfDB member country
- Be 35 years of age or younger
- Possess a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in a related field such as engineering, agriculture, energy, or health
- Have excellent academic records and demonstrate potential for development-related leadership
- Show a history of work experience (minimum 1 year) in their home country or in Africa post-bachelor’s degree
- Not be residing or working outside their home country
- Not be enrolled in a graduate program currently
- Not be a relative or employee of the African Development Bank
- Commit to returning to their home country upon completion to apply their expertise in national development
