The Ogun State Government has started the second phase of providing financial support to micro and small businesses, totaling N1 billion.

According to Mr. Adebola Sofela, the Commissioner for Industry, Trade, and Investment, and a member of the Ogun State COVID-19 Action Recovery and Economic Stimulus Steering Committee, Governor Dapo Abiodun has directed the immediate commencement of the second phase’s disbursement process.

In the first phase, the state government distributed over N120 million to more than 1,000 micro and small entrepreneurs across the 20 local government areas of the state. The support is targeted at businesses in various sectors, including retail, fashion, hair, beauty, light manufacturing, and hospitality.

Eligible enterprises for the grant must be located in Ogun State, have a minimum of three employees, have been in operation for at least two years, and have experienced reduced profitability due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The grant is intended for specific purposes such as the payment of utilities (water, electricity, internet service subscription), rent for office, shop, and cold room, as well as the payment of salaries (with evidence required).

 

To apply, businesses can follow these steps:

Visit https://www.ngcaresbusiness.org/

Click on Select State and choose Ogun State, then click on “Go to Portal.”

Click on Apply.

Fill in the required business details, including business name, type of business, monthly sales, business opening date, phone number, number of employees, and other necessary information.

Click on Submit to complete the application.

This support is a significant effort by the government to help businesses recover from the economic challenges posed by the pandemic and contribute to the overall well-being of the community.
