A plea has been made by the Uhnonma Foundation, a non-profit organization, to the National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to issue the Certificate of Return to Senator Monday Okpebholo.
The foundation asserts that Senator Okpebholo is the authentic winner of the APC governorship primary election in Edo State held last Saturday.

During the primary election for the governorship election scheduled for September 21, 2024, two winners emerged.
Governor Hope Uzodinma of Imo State, the Chairman of the Edo State Governorship Primary Committee, announced Hon. Dennis Idahosa as the winner. Simultaneously, the returning officer for the primary election, Dr. Stanley Ugboajah, declared Senator Monday Okpebholo as the winner.
Dr. Maryam Jibbrin, the Director-General of the Uhnonma Foundation, representing over 50 groups, addressed journalists and emphasized that there is no controversy about the winner of the primary election, insisting that Okpebholo is the legitimate winner.
She appealed to the National Working Committee of the APC to release the Certificate of Return to Senator Monday Okpebholo, expressing that it would affirm his status as the APC flag bearer.
Jibbrin also thanked the NWC of the APC, led by Abdullahi Ganduje, and urged other aspirants to accept the primary election outcome and collaborate with Senator Okpebholo for the success of the All Progressives Congress in the September 21 governorship election. She concluded by encouraging unity among aspirants for the betterment of Edo State.
