The Vice-Chancellor of the Delta State University of Science and Technology Ozoro, Professor Jacob Oboreh, has appealed for calm and understanding amid the ongoing crisis over the relocation of the Faculty of Management Sciences from Ozoro to Orerokpe.
In a statement released on Wednesday in Ozoro, Prof. Oboreh explained that the relocation was aimed at fostering more rapid development within the University of Science and Technology.

He stated that 12 new programs in the field of science and technology would be immediately introduced in the existing faculties, emphasizing that the relocation of the affected programs would not hinder the university’s progress.
Prof. Oboreh further disclosed that three faculties—Basic Medical Sciences, Pharmacy, and Health Sciences—have received approval for establishment in the university by the Governor.
He urged the Isoko and Ozoro communities to accept the relocation positively, assuring that equal opportunities would be provided for all Deltans in terms of admission and other considerations.
Acknowledging the concerns of the Isoko people, who are significant stakeholders in the university, Prof. Oboreh mentioned that they had engaged with the Governor, who unveiled plans for the rapid development of the university.
He called on all stakeholders to remain calm and allow the Governor to implement his extensive development agenda for the university and the broader educational sector in the state.
