Amidst the economic challenges in the country, Most Rev. Matthew Man-Oso Ndagoso, the Catholic Archbishop of Kaduna Diocese, has called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take action and address the prevailing hunger crisis before it leads to dire consequences for Nigerians.
During an interview at the celebration of Ash Wednesday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Cathedral in Kaduna, Archbishop Ndagoso attributed the current hardship to the government’s unfavorable policies.

He urged Nigerian leaders, including Tinubu, to acknowledge their role in exacerbating the challenges faced by the citizens and take responsibility.
The Archbishop expressed concern over the unprecedented level of suffering in Nigeria, emphasizing that the government’s policies, including the removal of subsidies, have contributed to the worsening situation. He urged leaders to adopt gradual and considerate approaches rather than implementing abrupt and drastic measures.
Additionally, Archbishop Ndagoso encouraged Nigerians, especially Christians, to extend help to the less privileged, prisoners, and the poor during the fasting period, emphasizing the importance of showing love and support to one another.
