Each year, during four dynamic days in Paris, VivaTech organizes Europe’s largest technology and startup event, exploring disruptive tech topics with world-premiere demos, launches, and conferences in a collaborative ecosystem. The eighth edition of VivaTech is scheduled for May 22-25, 2024.

As part of its initiatives, VivaTech is organizing the third edition of the AfricaTech Awards. This pan-African program recognizes and supports startups making a positive impact in critical areas such as Climate Tech, Health Tech, E-commerce, and FinTech.
While tech startups play a crucial role in addressing global challenges and promoting sustainable development, many startups across Africa struggle to secure the necessary capital for scaling.
Through the AfricaTech Awards, they aim to create opportunities for emerging startups in Africa, providing networking and mentoring moments with tech leaders, major investors, policymakers, and institutions.
Vivatech Challenges
1. Climate Tech Challenge:
– Solutions reducing emissions, protecting the environment, and enhancing community climate resilience.
2. E-commerce & FinTech Challenge:
– Solutions contributing to the economic development of African countries in e-commerce and finance.
3. Health Tech Challenge:
– Solutions expanding healthcare access in underserved communities, reducing service costs, and fostering innovation in the healthcare sector.
Rewards

Selection Criteria
1. Impact: Proven product/solution results addressing societal and/or environmental issues.
2. Innovation: Relevance and innovation level compared to existing alternatives.
3. Scalability: Market sizing and startup scalability potential.
4. Team Profile: Team experience, size, and diversity.
5. Business Model: Addressing a real need in the market.
Vivatech 2024 Eligibility Criteria
– Majority of the team based in Africa or serving African markets.
– Solution or product addressing the African market.
– Raised a minimum of USD 200K and a maximum of USD 20M in capital.
– Addresses one of the following themes: Climate Tech, E-commerce, FinTech, or Health Tech.
