The Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (MCFSP at KNUST) endeavors to nurture the next generation of ethical and transformative leaders who will drive positive changes in their respective home countries and across the African continent.

Benefits

The scholarship offers:

1. Full financial support, covering tuition fees, on-campus accommodation expenses, provision of learning materials, transportation costs, and a monthly stipend.

2. Regular group meetings with fellow scholars, focusing on personal and professional development opportunities tailored to enhance societal relationships and the scholars’ capacity.

3. Continuous academic support through mentoring, virtual learning, life and career coaching, and tutoring.

4. Opportunities to engage in leadership congresses, community services, mentoring programs (Go-back Give-Back), and specially curated internships.

7. Possibility to enroll in an accelerated Master’s Degree program after completing undergraduate studies at a partner institution in the USA.

Requirements

All applicants must:

1. Hold a WASSCE, GBCE, ABCE, or GCE O’Level and A’Level qualification from an accredited/recognized institution, with the certificate ready, and meet KNUST’s admission criteria. No applicant awaiting results will be considered, and the results must be at least a year old.
2. Demonstrate critical economic needs.
3. Provide evidence of proven leadership and community engagement.
4. Be committed to giving back to their community.
5. Not be enrolled in any tertiary institution.

Priority will be given to

– Female applicants
– Displaced persons (certified refugees, internally displaced persons, etc.)
– Persons with disabilities

When submitting the scholarship application form to the Secretariat, applicants must include the following additional documents:

1. Printout of the application for admission at KNUST.
2. Original certificates for both O’Level and A’Level results or their equivalent results.
