According to The Cable’s report on Friday, April 26, a school has decided to refund a sum of $760,000 to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), as conveyed in a letter to the commission.
This decision was prompted by the acknowledgment that Yahaya Bello, a former governor, had made the aforementioned payment in September 2021.

The school agreed to refund the amount after deducting the cost of educational services provided to the ex-governor’s son since 2021.
The letter, dated October 24, 2022, requested that the EFCC provide an official written request, along with genuine banking details, for the refund.
The school specified the net amount to be refunded as $760,910.84, clarifying that no further additional fees were expected for tuition, as the students’ fees had been settled until their graduation from the institution.
This development was also noted by Vanguard newspaper. Previously, receipts had surfaced online allegedly showing that Bello had paid $845,000 for five children to attend the American International School of Abuja.
