This fully funded one-year fellowship program aims to provide life-changing, non-partisan, and merit-based leadership and employment opportunities to young Nigerians who aspire to make a positive impact on their generation.

Fellows will gain firsthand experience in governance at the state government level and engage in round table discussions with distinguished leaders from both the public and private sectors. They will also have the opportunity to participate in domestic and international policy trips.

The Lateef Jakande Fellowship Program, initiated by Governor Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu, seeks to develop future leaders by equipping them with the necessary skills to positively influence public service.

Through direct mentoring and on-the-job training, fellows will be instilled with the ethics and values of purposeful leadership.

Program Requirements

To be eligible for the Lagos Fellowship Program, applicants must:

– Be Nigerian citizens
– Have a minimum of 3 years of work experience
– Be under 35 years of age
– Hold at least a bachelor’s degree
– Have completed the NYSC program or hold an exemption letter

Duration and Benefits of the Fellowship Program

The fellowship program lasts for one year and offers the following benefits:

Work Experience: Fellows will shadow Lagos Cabinet members on a rotational basis after six months into the program.

Leadership Development: This component includes various activities such as the Brown-Bag Series, Fireside Chat, Leadership Seminar, Personalized Coaching, and Continuous multi-source feedback.

Community Service: Fellows will undertake a high-impact leadership project of their choice aimed at transforming communities. Additionally, they will collaborate annually on a major project focused on improving the lives of Lagosians.

Fellowship Network: The program will create a network of highly potential youth alumni who will benefit from peer-to-peer coaching and learning opportunities, promoting unity and social consciousness.

3. Successful applicants will be invited for a Computer-Based Test.
4. Submit an essay demonstrating written communication skills.
5. Shortlisted candidates will undergo a competency-based interview.
