Sankofatech’s Achievers in Technology (AIT) is a rigorous four-year scholarship and mentorship initiative designed to cultivate the next generation of African technology professionals in the United States.

Recognizing that technology careers are not commonly pursued by youth of African descent due to various factors such as limited industry knowledge, community misconceptions, and inadequate access to resources, Sankofatech aims to address these challenges through the AIT program.
AIT scholars undergo a comprehensive four-year curriculum that provides them with essential skills and connects them with a network of peers, mentors, advisors, and accomplished professionals in the tech sector.
Eligibility Criteria
Prospective applicants must:
– Be enrolling as first-year students at a U.S. college or university for the 2024-2025 academic year.
– Demonstrate an interest in pursuing a career in technology fields such as Software Engineering, Product Management, Data Science, Information Security, Project/Program Management, Networking, Database Administration, etc.
– Identify as of African descent.
– Come from low-income households.
Program Benefits

*Note: Scholarship disbursement is contingent upon the scholar’s continuous participation in Sankofatech’s Achievers in Technology Program and their selection of a qualified STEM major.
Application Process
Interested students should follow these steps:
– Complete the application form by Saturday, April 27, 2024, at 11:59 p.m. EST.
– Selected candidates will be invited for an interview.
– All applicants will receive notification of the final decision by July 2024.
