In 2024, the Korean government aims to welcome 2,200 international students through the 2024 Global Korea Scholarship program for graduate degrees.
Applicants have the option to apply through a Korean Embassy in their country of citizenship (embassy track) or directly to one of the designated universities (university track).

For inquiries regarding the application submission process, such as deadlines, submission methods, additional required documents, authentication, translation certificates, etc., applicants are advised to contact each embassy and university directly as they will oversee the initial round of selection.
Program Details
– 1 year of Korean language program
– Master’s Degree: 2 years of the degree program
– Doctoral Degree: 3 years of the degree program
– Research Program: 6 months or 1 year
Starting from the 2024 GKS-G, applicants expected to graduate by July 31st, 2024, can also apply for the program with a certificate of expected graduation.
These applicants must submit their official graduation certificate (or diploma) and final academic transcript to GKS Center, NIIED, by July 31st, 2024. Failure to do so will result in the cancellation of their acceptance.
Selection Process
– Interviews will be conducted through Zoom with a limited number of applicants who meet the application deadline and pass the documentation review.
– It is important to note that applicants failing to meet one of the qualifications outlined in the Applications Guideline will be automatically disqualified.
