Mercy Johnson Okojie is a Nigerian actress, film director, and producer. She began her primary education in Calabar, Cross River State. Following her father’s transfer to Lagos State, where he served as a naval officer, she continued her education at the Nigerian Navy Primary School.

For her secondary education, she attended Rivers State Secondary School and the Nigerian Navy Secondary School in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. As a result of her father’s military service, her family moved frequently exposing her to different cultures and environments across Nigeria.

Following her secondary education, she tried out for a role in “The Maid” and went on to feature in other films such as “Hustlers,” “Baby Oku in America,” and “War in the Palace.” In 2009, she earned the Best Supporting Actress award at the African Movie Award ceremony for her role in “Live to Remember” and the Best Actress award at the 2013 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards for her performance in the comedy movie “Dumebi the Dirty Girl.”
By December 2011, she secured the position of Google’s most searched Nigerian celebrity, a title she maintained in 2012. Currently serving as the Senior Special Assistant (SSA) to the Kogi state governor on entertainment, arts, and culture, she assumed the role on April 1, 2017.
Venturing into film production, she made her debut with “The Legend of Inikpi.” In October 2019, Mercy Johnson inked an endorsement deal with Chi Limited’s Prime brand, Hollandia Evap Milk. Additionally, she became a brand ambassador for Pennek Nigeria Limited, a real estate investment company based in Lagos.
