Scholarship Benefits

The A&BK Scholarship provides:

✔ £20,000 per year – Financial support for tuition & living expenses.
✔ Up to 4 years of funding – Covers the entire undergraduate degree.
✔ Paid directly to the student – Supports maintenance & study costs.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for the A&BK Scholarship, applicants must:

✅ Have a household income of £42,000 or less – Confirmed by Student Finance England (SFE) or equivalent.
✅ Possess “Home” fee status – Eligible for UK student funding.
✅ Be from a “widening participation” background – Qualify for contextual admissions schemes.
✅ Be starting an undergraduate degree in Chemical Engineering (2025/26).
✅ Have an offer of admission to study a three-year or four-year full-time Chemical Engineering course.

Guidelines for Applications

📌 Application Deadline: May 30, 2025 (11:59 PM UK Time)

Step 1: Apply for Student Finance & Means Testing

📌 Submit a student finance application through Student Finance England (SFE), Student Finance Wales (SFW), SAAS, or SFNI.
📌 Ensure your household income is means-tested & confirmed (must be under £42,000).
📌 Consent to share financial details with the College (so they can verify your eligibility).

📢 Student finance applications take up to 8 weeks – apply as early as possible!

Step 2: Apply for the Chemical Engineering Course

📌 Submit a UCAS application for a Chemical Engineering undergraduate program.
📌 Receive and accept an offer of admission before the May 30, 2025, deadline.

Selection Process

✔ Applications reviewed based on:

  • Academic merit.
  • Financial need (verified by SFE or equivalent authority).
  • Widening participation background (contextual admissions criteria).

📢 Preference will be given to students who are NOT receiving other scholarships.

🚫 Deferrals are not allowed – the scholarship is only for students starting in 2025/26.
