Applications are now open for the DW Akademie International Media Studies Programme 2025 for Media Professionals to Study in Germany
This full-time, four-semester program combines research, lectures, and practical experience, equipping students for successful careers in the communications and media industry. Offered as a joint project of the University of Bonn, Bonn-Rhein-Sieg University of Applied Sciences, and DW Akademie, the interdisciplinary curriculum addresses a broad range of topics, including:

Since its inception in 2009, the program has seen over 290 graduates from 74 countries, fostering a global learning environment for up to 30 students annually.
Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Educational Background:
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or equivalent qualification.
- Work Experience:
- At least one year of media-related experience after earning their first degree.
- Language Proficiency:
- Provide proof of advanced English language skills.
- Scholarship Eligibility:
- Scholarships are available for highly qualified candidates from developing and emerging countries.
- Scholarship recipients will complete a fourth-semester internship in their home countries.

The program is tailored for young journalists, media managers, and communication professionals, especially those from developing and transition countries, including regions such as:
- Africa
- Asia
- Latin America
- Eastern Europe
It particularly targets individuals in the following fields:
- Radio, TV, online, and print media workers
- Young journalists, particularly in electronic media
- Community radio station journalists and managers
- Communication specialists
- Employees of NGOs and government ministries
- Professionals involved in development cooperation
- Representatives from regional media associations and national broadcasters
