The West Africa Civil Society Institute (WACSI), with support from the Ford Foundation, is inviting young graduates and civil society actors from Ghana and Nigeria to apply for its 6-month Next Generation Technology Internship Programme. This internship, running from February to July 2025, focuses on leveraging technology to drive social impact in civil society.

About
WACSI is seeking three interns who are passionate about using technology to advance civil society initiatives. This program provides hands-on experience in developing and implementing technology solutions to enhance social impact.
Requirements
The ideal candidates should have:
- A first degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or related fields.
- Commitment to WACSI’s vision and values, with an interest in civil society.
- Strong technical, writing, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office packages.
- Knowledge of cloud computing tools.
- Expertise in digital marketing.
- Confidence in using and applying data analysis tools.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work well under pressure and in a multi-cultural environment.
- A proactive attitude, with a willingness to learn and take initiatives.
- Strong team collaboration skills.
Job Responsibilities
Interns will:
- Identify and propose solutions to digital technology-related challenges.
- Design, plan, and implement technology solutions, documenting key processes and lessons learned.
- Assist with tech adoption training and support in digital technology-related areas.
- Contribute to the visibility and outreach of tech programs through digital marketing, branding, and partner engagement.
- Report on activities, analyze data, and provide insights for decision-making and institutional practices.
- Support additional projects and initiatives across WACSI units.
Additional Details
- The Nigerian intern will work primarily at WACSI’s office in Abuja, Nigeria.
- The Ghanaian intern will work primarily at WACSI’s office in Accra, Ghana.
- The internship runs from February to July 2025.
- Interns are required to produce:
- A practicum report.
- An end-of-internship report.
- A technology action plan focused on civil society in West Africa.
