The Master Mind Scholarships at KU Leuven are awarded to talented international students with excellent academic performance who wish to study in Belgium. Each selected student receives a grant of €10,000 and a full tuition fee waiver for each academic year.

Eligibility Requirements

To qualify for the Master Mind Scholarship, you must:

Have excellent academic results, demonstrated by a high GPA on your transcript.
Have earned your previous degree(s) from a higher education institution outside Flanders. International students who studied in Flanders as part of a credit mobility program are still eligible.
If your first language is not English, you must show proficiency in English, even if the program has its minimum score requirement.
Be a new student at a Flemish higher education institution, as students already enrolled are not eligible.
Do not combine the Master Mind Scholarship with other scholarships, such as the Flemish Government or Erasmus Mundus Scholarships.

Scholarship Details

The Flemish Ministry of Education and Training awards these scholarships to outstanding students from around the world who enroll in master’s programs in Flanders or Brussels.

The scholarship provides €10,000 per academic year and a full tuition fee waiver (60 ECTS credits). Scholars will only need to pay an administrative enrolment fee.
The grant is paid in installments and covers accommodation, insurance, and part of the living expenses.

Application Process

To apply for the Master Mind Scholarship:

Submit a complete application for an eligible master’s program before 15 January 2025, 23:59 CET, including the KU Leuven Scholarships & Master Mind Candidacy Form as an attachment.
Register your Master Mind candidacy using the online registration tool by 15 January 2025, 23:59 CET.
After the deadline, KU Leuven’s master’s programs nominate students who have expressed interest in the scholarship.
The central KU Leuven Selection Commission nominates up to 20 students for the Flemish-level selection.
The preselected students will be informed before 15 April 2025.
Nominated students will then complete the Flemish government’s Master Mind online application form, competing with nominees from other Flemish universities.
The final selection will be made by the Flemish government’s Selection Commission, with results announced in late May or early June.
