The African Union Public Health Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity, covering tuition, accommodation, and living stipends for all selected candidates.

  • Coverage of all costs for the 18-month master’s degree program in epidemiology at the University of the Witwatersrand School of Public Health, South Africa.

Requirements

To be considered for the African Public Health Scholars Programme, applicants must:

  • Have a disciplinary background in one of the following fields: medical, microbiology, dentistry, statistics, computer science, veterinary science, demography, nutrition, or psychology.
  • Hold a four-year honors degree, an MBBCh, or another health-related degree.
  • Relevant work experience is an advantage.
  • Provide an English competency certificate or evidence of prior undergraduate training in English (for applicants from countries where English is not the medium of instruction).
  • Submit certified copies of South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) certificates or proof of application to SAQA. (To apply for SAQA, visit: http://www.saqa.org.za/index.php.)

Required Documents

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  1. Application Form for admission to the University of Witwatersrand.
  2. Written Motivation by the applicant, detailing their reasons for applying for the course and how it aligns with their career goals.
  3. Comprehensive Curriculum Vitae (CV) including a description of relevant research and work experience.
  4. Two Referee Reports.
  5. Certified Copies of academic transcripts and certificates.

  • Apply online for an MSc in Epidemiology at the University of Witwatersrand, South Africa.
