This prestigious six-month fellowship supports 25 leaders from emerging and developing markets, guiding them towards a sustainable future.
Requirements
- Citizenship/Residency: You must be a citizen or resident of a developing or emerging country.
- Entrepreneurial Background: You should have started a for-profit company within the last five years that focuses on developing or emerging markets.
- Business Model: Your company should have a scalable business model that has either generated revenue or secured initial external funding.
- Innovation: Your business or its products should have disruptive qualities that can enhance the quality, impact, or inclusiveness of your industry.
- Language Proficiency: A good working knowledge of English is necessary.
- Availability: You must be available for the digital kick-off conference and commit to participating in programme activities over the six-month period.
Benefits
The Westerwelle Young Founders Programme offers targeted support to scale participants’ ventures and develop their leadership skills through a structured programme:
- Kick-Off Event: The programme begins with a two-day digital kick-off event in mid-September 2024.
- Remote Programme: From September 2024 to February 2025, participants will receive six months of support, including:
- A personal mentor
- Monthly peer learning sessions
- Monthly expert workshops
- Networking opportunities with corporates and investors
- Berlin Conference: The top ten performing Young Founders will be invited to a five-day conference in Berlin in June 2025. Here, they will:
- Pitch to investors
- Participate in workshops
- Join networking events
- Gain insights into the German start-up scene
