The Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship 2025/2026 is officially open for applications! This prestigious, year-long program aims to enhance the leadership capabilities of early to mid-career African women working in public health across Kenya and South Africa.

Program Overview
This hybrid fellowship focuses on developing leadership skills, promoting intersectional gender equity, and fostering collaboration among professionals committed to systemic change in health. Participants will engage in workshops, mentorship, and a fully funded in-person training designed to strengthen their vision and impact.
Fellowship Benefits
Successful candidates will receive a comprehensive support package that includes:

Key Competency Areas
Throughout the fellowship, selected candidates will build skills in:
1. Gender Equity and Intersectional Analysis
Apply intersectional frameworks to assess and improve gender-responsive health systems and research practices.
2. Global Health Policy and Advocacy
Gain practical knowledge in influencing and implementing public health policies at the local, national, and global levels.
3. Leadership
Cultivate the ability to guide teams, make strategic decisions, and lead with inclusivity, empathy, and vision.
4. Mentorship
Develop mentorship capacity to uplift others, nurture talent, and drive institutional change toward gender equity.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the Women in Global Health Leadership Fellowship 2025, applicants must:
- Identify as a woman
- Be in the early to mid-stages of their career (5–15 years of experience)
- Hold a Master’s or PhD in Public Health, Health Sciences, Health Policy, or related fields
- Work in public health policy, practice, research, or teaching
- Demonstrate strong leadership potential and commitment to gender equity
- Be an African national residing and working in Kenya or South Africa
- Have fluent English language skills
- Obtain employer support to participate
- Be available for a 5–7 day in-person training
In-Person Training
All fellows must attend the mandatory one-week in-person workshop, which will serve as a foundational part of the program. This session offers interactive learning, peer networking, and exposure to real-world leadership scenarios.
Financial Support and Accessibility
In recognition of the barriers that women in leadership often face, the fellowship includes a living and family support stipend. This stipend helps address:
- Loss of income during training
- Costs related to childcare or eldercare
- Additional support needs to enable full and uninterrupted participation
