In collaboration with the British Council and the GREAT Britain Campaign, the University of York has made available five scholarships for international students applying to various postgraduate courses.
The GREAT Scholarship 2024 initiative, led by the British Council in partnership with 72 UK universities, aims to support postgraduate students from Bangladesh, China, Egypt, Ghana, Greece, Kenya, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, Turkey, and Vietnam in accessing top-tier UK higher education opportunities.

Benefits
This scholarship program provides financial assistance starting from a minimum of £10,000 to students pursuing one-year postgraduate studies in the UK.
Requirements
To be eligible for consideration for the scholarship, applicants must:
– Hold citizenship in China, Nigeria, Pakistan, Thailand, or Turkey.
– Be subject to overseas fee rates (all fee assessments must be completed by May 20, 2024).
– Fulfill any language proficiency conditions specified in their offer by May 20, 2024.
– Hold a conditional or unconditional offer to pursue a one-year postgraduate taught course at the University of York by May 20, 2024 (acceptance of the offer is not required). Nigerian applicants are eligible if they have received an offer for one of the specified courses:
– LLM Law
– LLM Art Law
– LLM International Corporate and Commercial Law
– LLM International Human Rights Law and Practice
– LLM Legal and Political Theory
– MA Applied Human Rights
Ineligibility
Applicants will not be eligible if:
– They already hold a scholarship covering 100% of tuition fees or are fully sponsored.
– They are current students at the University of York who commenced their studies in the previous academic year.
– They are enrolled in the following programs or pathways:
– Hull York Medical School
– International Pathway College
– Distance/online learning courses
– Part-time courses
– Kaplan International College London
– GEMMA, CASPPER, and Mundus MAPP programs
– Masters courses exceeding one year in duration.
