The cost-cutting initiative will be implemented across the entire federal government, including the offices of the President, Vice President, and First Lady.

The reduction in travel expenditure for the President and Vice President will involve a significant decrease in allowances for the security details accompanying them during local travels.

The new directive stipulates that security outfits within states, such as the Police, DSS, or other military branches, will lead the protective detail for the President when he travels to their states. This security arrangement also applies to the offices of the Vice President and the First Lady.

For international travels, President Tinubu directed that ministers in his cabinet will travel with a maximum of four members of their staff, while heads of agencies are limited to two members of their staff. The President also approved specific maximum numbers of persons allowed to be part of the envoy for local and international travels:

For foreign trips

– President: 20 persons
– Vice President: 5 persons
– First Lady: 5 persons

For local trips

– President: 25 persons
– Vice President: 15 persons
– First Lady: 10 persons
