The Pan African University (PAU) Scholarship is a fully funded opportunity for young African scholars to pursue Master’s and PhD degrees in various fields, including Water, Energy, Climate Change, Basic Sciences, Technology, and Innovation.

Scholarship Benefits

The Pan African University Scholarship covers:

Eligibility Criteria

For Master’s Applicants

 Maximum Age:

  • 30 years for males.
  • 35 years for females.

 Educational Qualification:

  • Bachelor’s degree (Second Class Upper or equivalent) from a recognized university.

 Required Documents:

  •  Certified copies of certificates and transcripts (university + high school).
  •  Passport/National ID copy (personal details page).
  •  Recent passport-sized photo (2cm x 2cm).
  •  Detailed CV.
  •  Recommendation letter from one university lecturer.
  •  Names & contact details of 3 reference lecturers (email + WhatsApp number).

For PhD Applicants

Maximum Age:

    • 35 years for males.
    • 40 years for females.

Educational Qualification:

  • Master’s degree from PAU or any recognized international university

Required Documents:

  •  Certified copies of certificates and transcripts.
  •  Passport/National ID copy (personal details page).
  •  Recent passport-sized photo (2cm x 2cm).
  •  Detailed CV.
  •  Two recommendation letters from professors.
  •  3-4 page Research Concept Note (tentative title, research questions, objectives, significance of research).
  •  Names & contact details of 3 reference university lecturers (email + WhatsApp number).
  •  Entrance Exam: Applicants may be required to take a written or oral exam.
  •  Language Proficiency:
  • Candidates for Conference Interpreting & Translation programs must have excellent proficiency in at least two African Union languages (Arabic, English, French, Portuguese).

NOTE: Applications that do not include all required documents will be disqualified.

Step 1: Register on the PAU Scholarship Portal

2️⃣ Click “Register” and create an account.
3️⃣ Verify your email and set up your login credentials.

Step 2: Complete the Online Application

  • Login using your credentials.
  • Fill out the application form with personal and academic details.
  •  Upload all required documents in PDF/JPEG format.
  •  Save and review your application before submitting.

NOTE: Incomplete applications will not be considered.

Selection Process

  •  Pre-Selection – Based on academic qualifications and supporting documents.
  •  Entrance Examination – Some candidates may be required to take a written or oral test.
  •  Final Selection & Admission Offer – Candidates will receive an email notification if selected.
