American streamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins has disclosed that he has received a diagnosis of melanoma, a type of skin cancer.
On X, the 32-year-old Fortnite gamer, who boasts 19 million followers on Twitch, disclosed that a mole removed from his foot was diagnosed as cancerous.

Ninja mentioned that a second dark spot on his foot is also under examination. Despite feeling “shocked,” he expressed gratitude for the early detection of the cancer and encouraged others to undergo regular check-ups.
Renowned for his presence on Twitch since his return in 2020, following a brief period with Microsoft’s Mixer platform (which shut down in June of that year), Ninja has become synonymous with Fortnite. Players can even pay to customize their characters to resemble him.
His fame in the streaming world has transcended into mainstream media appearances, such as on The Masked Singer US.
In his X post, Ninja shared that he discovered the cancer after visiting a dermatologist for his annual mole check-up.
He explained, “There was a mole on the bottom of my foot that they wanted to remove just to be careful,” revealing, “It came back as melanoma, but they are optimistic that we caught it in the early stages.”
According to the NHS website, melanoma is a type of skin cancer that can metastasize to other body parts, often caused by exposure to ultraviolet light from the sun.
The NHS advises individuals to protect themselves from the sun by using sunscreen and reapplying it regularly.
Those with a higher risk of developing melanoma include individuals with fair skin, numerous moles, and a family history of skin cancer.
Treatment for melanoma typically involves surgery, with chemotherapy being considered if the cancer has spread beyond the skin.
