The Henley Passport Index has ranked the most powerful passports globally, revealing that Nigerians now enjoy visa-free access to approximately 45 countries with their Nigerian passports.

The index utilizes data from the International Air Transport Association (IATA) and is complemented by research from Henley & Partners’ research team.

In the recent ranking, Nigeria secured the 95th position out of 104 countries with the most powerful passports. Notably, Nigeria is ranked behind countries such as Ghana, Guinea, Kenya, Lesotho, Morocco, Benin Republic, and Namibia, positioned at 76th, 83rd, 67th, 65th, 71st, 79th, and 65th, respectively.

Nigerians can travel to 45 visa-free countries with their passports.

These countries include Barbados, Benin, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Cape Verde Islands, Chad, Comoro Islands, Cook Islands, Cote d’Ivoire, Djibouti, Dominican Republic, Fiji, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Haiti, Iran, Kenya, Kiribati, Lebanon, Liberia, Madagascar, Maldives, Mali, Mauritania, Mauritius, Micronesia, Montserrat, Mozambique, Niger, Niue, Palau Islands, Rwanda, Samoa, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia, St. Kitts and Nevis, The Gambia, Timor-Leste, Togo, Tuvalu, and Vanuatu.
