The Ministry of Tourism is currently in discussions with the Nigeria Economic Summit Group (NESG) to collaborate on reviewing and improving the government’s policies and programs for the development of Nigeria’s tourism industry.
Led by Tourism Minister Mrs. Lola Ade-John, a team from the Ministry met with NESG in Abuja. NESG, known as a private sector think-tank, assists the government in creating effective policies and implementing projects.

During the meeting, Dr. Tayo Aduloju, CEO of NESG, emphasized Nigeria’s potential as ‘Africa’s best-kept secret’ for tourism. NESG aims to optimize the governance framework for the industry.
The collaboration aims to ensure both parties are committed to reviewing, developing, and implementing a roadmap for a sustainable tourism industry in Nigeria. The goal is to enhance the growth of Nigeria’s tourism sector through well-thought-out plans.
Minister Lola Ade-John expressed her excitement about working with NESG to review government policies and receive technical support for implementing Nigeria’s tourism development roadmap.
The meeting included key figures such as Nura Kangiwa, Director General of the National Institute for Hospitality and Tourism (NIHOTOUR), Folorunsho Coker, Director General of the Nigeria Tourism Development Authority, and James Sule, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Ministry of Arts, Culture, and the Creative Industry.
