The Kwara State House of Assembly has officially passed the 2024 appropriation bill, approving a total budget of N292,741,292,132.30.


The initial budget presented by Governor AbdulRazaq Lawal was N296,457,875,578.00, but the House reviewed it downward by N3,716,583,446, representing a 1.5 percent decrease. The passed budget puts capital expenditure at 61 percent and recurrent expenditure at 39 percent.

The Speaker of the House, Hon. Yakubu Danladi-Salihu, commended his colleagues, particularly members of the appropriation committee chaired by Hon. Arinola Lawal, for their due diligence and success in the budget review.
Danladi-Salihu praised Governor AbdulRazaq for presenting a budget geared towards economic expansion and collective prosperity. He acknowledged the governor’s commitment to sustaining payment of counterparts’ funds for the development of the state.
The approval of the budget reflects the collaborative efforts of the Kwara State House of Assembly in ensuring financial prudence and aligning the budget with the state’s development goals.
