Whether you’re an avid photographer, a professional, or simply someone who admires the beauty of nature, we invite you to participate in the CIFOR-ICRAF ‘Trees, People, Planet’ Photo Competition 2023.
We’re on the lookout for stunning images from around the world, showcasing the diverse beauty of landscapes, forests, wildlife, and our connection to them. This year, we encourage you to explore the theme of water, emphasizing its vital role in forest ecosystems.

Eligibility
Open to participants aged 18 or older.
Use the photography equipment you’re comfortable with.
CIFOR-ICRAF employees are not eligible to enter.
Rules
- Entries should not include watermarks, signatures, or captions.
- Previously awarded photos will be disqualified.
- Submissions featuring minors are not eligible.
- Photos generated using artificial intelligence tools or assistance are ineligible.
- Images portraying harassment of wildlife won’t be accepted.
- Photos taken in restricted areas or causing environmental damage are not eligible.
- Photos taken before 2010 are ineligible.

Application Process
- Submit your entries
- Multiple entries are allowed, but only one can reach the final round.
- Each uploaded file must include the photo’s title, name, email address, social media handles (if applicable), and a caption indicating the subject, location, and a brief description of the photo’s story.

You must have full copyright for submitted photos, implying your agreement with the contest rules and terms and conditions.
