Governor Sule Abdullahi of Nasarawa State has distanced himself from the establishment of the Nomad Vigilante, recently launched by the leadership of the Fulani socio-cultural association in the state.
The governor disavowed the group during separate meetings with the State House of Assembly members and representatives of the State Council of Chiefs.

The Nomad Vigilante Group, a 1,144-man outfit launched by Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, aims to collaborate with security agencies in addressing security challenges, including banditry, kidnapping, and cattle rustling.
However, Governor Sule clarified that the state government had no prior knowledge of the formation of the group and emphasized that his administration does not support any illegal outfits.
He stated that if the state government intended to form such an outfit, it would follow legal procedures, initiating legislation through the State House of Assembly.
Governor Sule reaffirmed the government’s commitment to recognizing vigilante groups and community policing authorized by the Federal Government.
