GSA Africa Season 2024 General Criteria for Startup Applications:
Age of Startup:

- Limited to a maximum of 5 years, calculated from the establishment date until the opening of public nominations.
- Exceptions apply to the Best Newcomer category and the Best Venture Capitalist category.
Location and Origin:

- Startups must be founded and currently located in the specific African country participating in the competition.
Product or Service Development:

- Demonstrable existence of a Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and/or service in the market.
Revenue Generation:

- Startups must showcase monthly recurring revenue, emphasizing sustainability and market traction.
Team Composition:

- A requirement for a team of two or more individuals promotes collaboration and shared responsibilities.
African Leadership:

- Startups must be African-led, ensuring at least one founder or co-founder is from Africa and currently resides on the continent.
Language Requirements:

- All applications and accompanying presentations must be submitted and conducted in English.
