The Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC) has reported a complete breakdown in the electricity supply system, which occurred at 12:40 a.m. on Thursday, affecting the entire South East region.

This situation was confirmed through a statement issued by Emeka Ezeh, EEDC’s Head of Corporate Communications, based in Enugu. Ezeh explained that this development has led to the ongoing power outage experienced throughout the network.

“As a result of this incident, all of our interface Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) Stations have lost power supply. Consequently, we are unable to provide service to our customers in Abia, Anambra, Ebonyi, Enugu, and Imo States. We are presently on standby, awaiting comprehensive information regarding the power system failure and the restoration of supply from the National Control Centre (NCC) in Osogbo,” he stated.
