Applications are now open for the Commonwealth Climate Resilience Network Grants 2024/2025
The ACU Commonwealth Climate Resilience Challenge Grants aim to equip ACU member universities to spearhead climate resilience efforts. These grants enable academic and professional staff to launch projects aligned with the strategic goals of the Commonwealth Climate Resilience Network (CCRN), which include:

Grant Information
- Three grants are available, each up to GBP 3,500.
Eligibility and How to Apply
- Open to staff at ACU member universities.
- Applications must be completed online.
- Registered users: Log in to MyACU to access the application form.
- New users: Create a MyACU account and follow the instructions to reach the application form.
Applicants are encouraged to collaborate with other ACU member universities to build Commonwealth partnerships. Proposals involving partnerships with non-ACU institutions are also welcome. Applications featuring matching or additional funding from the applicant’s own university will receive special consideration.
Ideas for the Commonwealth Grant
Grants can support various projects in the following areas:
- Climate change adaptation in education: This can include virtual exchange programs, joint teaching initiatives, or the co-creation of learning materials.
- Building research capacity: Projects could involve virtual fellowships, research management programs, or documentation of indigenous knowledge related to resilience.
- Enhancing institutional resilience: Examples include developing tools, conducting training, or creating continuity planning frameworks for universities.
These grants have already supported a wide range of climate-focused projects at Commonwealth universities, from coral reef temperature tracking in Fiji to incorporating indigenous knowledge into academic systems in New Zealand.
